Gideon, the son of John Ouseley, was born at Dunmnore, Co. Galway on February 24, 1762. He was appointed by the Wesleyan Conference in 1799 to work as a general missionary to tell to the Irish people that God was working in their own tongue to show them the wonderful works of God. Gideon was the most successful preacher in Irish and he kept that up until his death.
